ProFractional Laser Treatments

ProFractional is a fractionated laser, which means it ablates only a fraction of the skin in the treatment area, leaving the majority of it intact. It is designed to decrease fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, scars, and improve skin texture with minimal downtime. Unlike full resurfacing, which removes the entire surface area treated, ProFractional uses a narrow diameter microbeam to treat only a percentage of the skin. This lets us leave the surrounding tissue intact. Why does this matter? It means treatment is more comfortable. You will be back to your daily routine more quickly and your skin will heal more rapidly.

How does ProFractional work?

ProFractional uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin, which are surrounded by areas of healthy, untreated skin. The zones of untreated skin stimulate your body’s natural healing process, and the treated areas stimulate production of new collagen, plumping up your skin and smoothing out wrinkles, lines, scars and other irregularities.

Who should consider ProFractional?

The ideal client for the ProFractional treatment is one who desires noticeable skin rejuvenation with very little downtime. ProFractional is safe and effective for most skin types. Results are permanent and patients experience sequential improvement with each treatment.

What areas can be treated?

Profractional is a wonderful treatment for facial rejuvenation. The neck and chest are other commonly treated areas.

What should I do before treatment?

We strongly recommend starting a pre-conditioning skin care program two weeks before undergoing the ProFractional laser treatment. This includes applications of SkinMedica Retinol and Lytera (skin lightener). We will tell you all you need to know at your initial consultation.

How long does the treatment take?

ProFractional is a fast, safe, minimally uncomfortable treatment that takes approximately 30-60 minutes to perform depending on the area. Numbing cream is applied 30-60 minutes prior to procedure to enhance your comfort.

How soon will I see results?

You should notice results after just one treatment with continued improvement over time. On average our clients need three to six treatments to get the best results. You may also combine the ProFractional with the MicroLaser Peel  or other popular aesthetic procedures such as a photofacial (please link to BBL page) to further enhance your results.

How often will I need treatment?

ProFractional results are predictable and permanent. Initially, you should plan on completing a series of 2-5 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart.

What should I expect after treatment?

Initially, you may experience some pinpoint bleeding the night of the procedure. You can expect 1-4 days of redness and swelling with this procedure depending on the depth of treatment. Most of our clients can resume work and apply make-up within 1-2 days after the treatment.

What aftercare do I need?

We will provide you with a list of post-treatment care instructions, which may include skin care products and explain how to use them.  You will be sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until completely healed. Using a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors and on a daily basis is always recommended. We at Seychelles, recommend Vanicream sunscreen.

At Seychelles Med Spa, we use one of the most advanced lasers in the industry, the Sciton Laser.

Our Sciton laser is considered one of the best lasers on the market! Don’t take our word for it…Check out this article outlining a survey of aesthetic professionals who ranked Sciton as the #1 aesthetic device provider.  Several of Sciton’s devices were among the most used and trusted devices in the aesthetic industry and can treat over 15 skin conditions covering most areas on the body.
