PRP Scar Treatment
PRP, which contains a plethora of beneficial growth factors that will help heal the skin stimulate the regrowth of collagen and elastin. “Liquid Gold,” a gel-like substance that contains only your PRP. Liquid Gold is called as such because it contains only pure platelets, which contains active growth factors. Growth factors send messages to our body’s cells and tell them to start the healing process. By concentrating the platelets and placing them directly in a scar, a wound, or into aging skin we can encourage the body to heal itself.
This treatment is very safe since it uses your own blood, which takes away any concern of allergic reactions to foreign substances and risk of infection.
The therapy starts with a simple blood draw of the patient’s own blood. It is then delivered to a specially prepared tube. The tube is placed in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets from the red blood cells.
These separated platelets are then injected into the face, neck, breasts, hands, acne or surgical scars and the scalp for hair loss. It is also used as a topical healing component after laser treatments.
The injections are performed by using very small needles with the client experiencing little to no pain.
You should expect at least one day of down time. You will go home with the PRP on the scar and will have a blood-like appearance due to the microscopic holes caused by the procedure. The next day you can wash the area. You may have imperfections in the skin for a couple of days, but most clients report you can easily cover this up with makeup. Because the PRP has so many healing properties, your healing is drastically quicker.
Since the PRP has so many growth factors, stimulates collagen production, elastin and energizes cells, which are the building blocks of young and healthy skin. You should experience a reduction in fine lines, improvement of texture and tone of the skin, and improvement with dark pigmentation.
Seychelles want to make sure that this is the right procedure for you. We would love for you to come in for a complimentary consult.
The platelets found in our blood do a host of beneficial things; such as stimulate the regrowth of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of young and healthy skin. When your own blood is injected back into your skin, the body naturally begins a healing process that helps rid of scars. We often recommend PRP as an add-on therapy to laser scar removal treatments, to deliver the best results possible to our scar patients. At Seychelles Med and Laser Spa, we strongly believe that combination therapy is the most effective approach to scar treatment.
Here is how Platelet Rich Plasma works: platelets are a natural component of your own blood. Their job is to help in making blood clot and in aiding the natural healing process by means of natural substances known as growth factors. Growth factors send messages to our body’s cells and tell them to start the healing process. By concentrating the platelets and placing them directly in a scar, a wound, or into aging skin we can encourage the body to heal itself.
The procedure itself is quite simple and quick. A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm and then placed into a centrifuge, which separates the blood into a portion of cells and a portion of plasma, which is a golden colored fluid which contains the platelets. The plasma is then placed into syringes and activated, which causes the platelets to release their healing growth factors. The serum is then injected into the scar facial area to be treated. Over the next several weeks, the body begins to naturally heal the area by laying down new, healthy tissue and brining in a rich blood supply.
The entire process takes about an hour and you can return to your life immediately without stitches, laser burns or any wound care.
