What to Expect on the Day of Sculptra

Your Sculptra treatment will take place in our boutique Medical Spa, so immediately, our soothing environment should help relax your mind. Before your treatment begins, you will be administered local anesthesia to numb the area and ensure minimal discomfort. Next, using a very thin needle and syringe, exact amounts of the Sculptra solution are injected into your body, encouraging the production of collagen in the treated area.

From start to finish, the treatment should take a little under an hour, making it a great lunch break procedure!

What is the downtime?

Although you may notice results immediately, most aesthetically optimal results are achieved after a few treatments that are performed once a month. The exact number of treatments needed will be determined during your consultation but could change depending on how your body reacts to the injections. The skin of the treated area(s) will look more toned, smoother, and in some cases, even have a cellulite reduction when used in the body.

After the Sculptra is injected, you may experience redness, swelling, tenderness, mild pain, or bruising. A cold pack can help alleviate mild pain and swelling in the first 24 hours post-procedure. Our Nurse Injector will provide a 5-minute massage following the procedure and teach you how to properly massage yourself at home. You will be expected to complete this massage for five minutes, five times daily, for five days. This massage helps distribute the Sculptra evenly and ensures there are no areas of a concentrated product.
