What to Expect on the Day of The Priapus Shot

When you come in for your Priapus Shot, you will begin by making yourself comfortable. The technician will then apply a cream or ointment that numbs the genital area and give you a local anesthetic that numbs the area around it. Then a blood sample will be taken, usually from somewhere non-invasive such as your arm, and placed in a test tube. The tube is placed in a centrifuge where the red blood cells are separated from the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). Once complete, the PRP/ PRF is extracted and put into 2 separate syringes for injection.

By this point, your genital area should be completely numb so you shouldn’t feel any pain. The platelets are injected into your penile shaft in just a few minutes with about 4 to 5 separate injections. Most clients describe this sensation as pressure at the injection site, but non-painful.

The Priapus Shot Recovery

Immediately after the treatment, you will be able to resume most of your daily activities. You may be instructed to use a penis pump that helps draw blood into the penis and ensure the PRP is working as intended. You may be additionally instructed to do this daily for 10 minutes over a few weeks, however, you shouldn’t do this too often or too long as it can damage elastic tissue, leading to fewer firm erections.

There may be tenderness at the site of injection for up to 3 days. You should avoid sexual activity for the first 72 hours after the procedure to avoid infection in the injection site. Also, try to limit any intense physical activity for a few days so that sweating or chafing won’t irritate the area.
