The CoolPeel laser treatment uses the most advanced CO₂ laser on the market called the Smartxide Tetra laser. This laser is designed to deliver high power in extremely short bursts while at a low-energy setting which creates a controlled injury to your epidermis and superficial dermis. This means there is less heat build-up in your skin so it can offer an optimal level of ablation with minimal damage to the surrounding tissue.

What’s the first step?

If you agree with the plan, you should be able to have your first session performed that day. What to Expect on the Day of Cartessa CoolPeel

When you come into our Medical Spa for your procedure, we will have you make yourself comfortable on one of our treatment chairs. The treatment itself is highly tolerated by most patients and doesn’t require any numbing cream, however, we can provide you with some if you would like. The laser technician will take the laser head and press it up to your skin, and within a few seconds, the laser pulse will work its magic, leaving behind a dotted, square-like pattern on your skin.

The entire treatment will take about 15 minutes per area.

What is the downtime?

After your CoolPeel treatment, you will be able to return home, but you should take it easy for about 24 hours to heal. Your skin may have a pinkish hue and be slightly grainy, but you can still do most activities, however, you should try to avoid direct sunlight for about two weeks. We will recommend your after-care skin regimen and will recommend applying lotion as needed to moisturize your skin.
