Microneedling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). It is one of the hottest procedures right now in aesthetic medicine. Microneedling targets fine lines, acne scars, traumatic scars, pores, pigmentation, and improvement of the skin’s texture, tone, and color. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with softer wrinkles.

Microneedling with the Eclipse MicroPen™ incorporates topical gels, creams, serums, and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), which is also known as the Vampire Facial™.

The pen creates micro-channels allowing topical gels, creams, and serums to be absorbed more effectively.

If you are currently afflicted with ongoing skin problems, such as inflamed or irritated skin, sensitive red skin, or pustular acne, you must resolve the condition before undergoing treatment. Also, if you are currently using acne medication or a topical retinoid prescription, we recommend waiting a while before getting micro-needling.

What’s the first step?

The first step in getting Microneedling in The Woodlands is to contact our clinic and schedule your free consultation with one of our technicians. During your appointment, you will be able to discuss any concerns you have, address your desires for the micro-needling treatment, and receive an evaluation.

After you get the run-down of what your treatment will be like, if you agree with the assessment, you will be able to schedule your treatment and be provided with a pricing guide for the treatment plan.

If you have any questions about whether or not you should get this treatment, make sure that you are honest with your technician to avoid any possible side effects or risks. Some medications can make your skin more sensitive and fragile, which causes more trauma than healing.

What to Expect on the Day of Microneedling with Eclipse MicroPen™

A topical product such as hyaluronic acid or PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is applied to the skin being treated. We then use the Eclipse MicroPen™, which contains tiny needles that are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to promote collagen and elastin growth. We select the appropriate setting based on your unique needs. Next, in a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.

Typically, the procedure takes about 30-60 minutes.

What is the downtime?

Immediately after the treatment, you will notice a bright redness on the skin. The total healing time depends on the Eclipse MicroPen™ settings used and the number of overlapping passes we perform. On average, clients are red for up to 2 to 4 days. Many clients heal completely in as little as 24 hours, especially when using PRP, also known as the Vampire Facial™
